Pull bios from Acaspot for your website

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Did you know you can pull your members’ bios from Acaspot through an iframe for your website?  All you have to do is copy and insert the following code:

<iframe frameBorder="0" src="http://www.acaspot.com/group?g=1&i=1" style="width: 600px; height: 470px"></iframe>

However, the URL in this code must match your particular group id.  Go to your Acaspot home page and click on your group’s profile.  The URL will be something similar to:

http://www.acaspot.com/group?g=1

All you have to do is add &i=1 to the URL (which tells Acaspot to return the page formatted correctly for a 600px wide iframe) and put it into the iframe code above, then use the code on your website.

Managing Group Profile

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Make sure your group is well represented!  Every AcaSpot member’s homepage includes a widget that randomly displays other group pictures.  Your group doesn’t appear if you haven’t uploaded a photo for your group.

Manage your group’s profile by going to the “Profiles” tab from your home page.

Be sure to upload a picture and put in your group’s website to make sure others can contact you.  This information will be viewable by other acaspot groups when they browse or search for groups using the “Find Other Groups” feature.

Google Calendar Integration

Embed you group’s Google Calendar on each member’s AcaSpot homepage for a quick reference of upcoming rehearsals and gigs.  It’s easy!

  1. Just create a Google Calendar
  2. From Google Calendar go to Settings->Calendar->[group calendar]
  3. Click on the Calendar Address HTML button, copy the URL and paste it into your Group Profile on AcaSpot.  The URL should be similar to:

http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=acaspot%40gmail.com
